Hi, I'm Dalia

Your Health and Wellness Coach

I work with professional women who feel the chronic stress of constantly being everything to everyone, with no time to care for their own health and wellbeing!

I, too, am a member of this tribe and, as such, I often get bogged down by the demands of others. Over the years, I've learned how to manage my stress by prioritizing myself, creating clear boundaries, and carving out much needed ME TIME to stay healthy and well. But this path hasn't always been easy and my journey to become the BEST version if myself continues.

From early on in my life, I learned what it means to spread myself thin. As a college student, I witnessed the deterioration of my dad’s health, which took an enormous toll on our family. He suffered from diabetes, which worsened over time and landed him in the hospital for nearly a year. While hospitalized, he underwent 10 surgical procedures that left him an amputee. The stress of caring for him in his new condition was enormous! My mom took on most of the caregiving, but I tried to help whenever I could. Between driving him to appointments, helping with grocery shopping, attending college classes full-time, and working odd jobs to pay the rent, life became extremely challenging. But, together, we mapped out the needs, created a schedule and made it work!

Over time, my life-work juggling act evolved further to include the needs of my newly created family of four, along with the demands of my academic career. I felt the pressure of caring for my kids and husband, being invested in my students and research, and having a semblance of a social life. There were times I wanted to scream into a pillow "how do people do this?" I craved sleep more than anything... But, my husband and I worked as a team to keep our ship not only afloat, but moving forward. We planned date nights, personal days, vacations. Life turned less spontaneous, but we made it work.

Our journey became more complicated after we decided to relocate from Israel to Boston, following a job offer my husband accepted. The emotional burden of relocation was real, and the stress of establishing ourselves away from family and friends was considerable. We had to create a new life in a new culture, with a new language, new food, new weather, new friends, new everything. I spent an entire year supporting my family through this process before beginning my own search for my new self. It felt as if my life was on hold...

My patience paid off! I found a research job at Boston University that I had grown to love. I thrived! I made time to cook for my family, go to the gym, practice yoga, meet up with friends, go to the theater, travel... I was a dedicated mom and a loving wife, with a fulfilling career and an active social life. I felt I had it all!

In 2016, everything changed. The funding that supported my job dried up. Where would I go now? Who would want to hire a woman in her late 40s and in what capacity? How would I reinvent myself? My stress levels mounted... I ended up in the biotech space, where I served as a scientific communications professional. I found myself working 70-hour work weeks doing things I didn't love, while trying to stay present for my family and friends. I was torn in all directions and felt deeply unhappy.

One day, I sat at my desk, stared down at my feet and noticed that my left ankle was swollen. "Swelling is never a good sign" I thought to myself. I realized I was on a path to disease! I realized that I needed change... It was at that point that I discovered the world of health and wellness coaching. I was determined to become a professional in this field who could support other women facing similar challenges.
